An ongoing and expanding series of short moving image works for Wirksworth Festival 2010. Filmed in and around Wirksworth, these highlight aspects of the town and surrounding areas that may be unapparent or overlooked. The work focuses on the more subtle elements of the environment and architecture, looking for the hidden poetry that lurks beneath the surface. Using low-resolution video on a small digital camera, the image is captured in its immediacy, allowing it speak for itself. The films are visual collages, shifting haiku moments of the raw and subtle beauty of the everday.
