Audio Waves (00.48 GMT)
pen on tracing paper - A1
Mapping the shipping forecast - an interpretation of the mental geography of the maritime mantra.
Tracing the audio journey; based on the geographic points of the Met Office daily shipping forecast - an abstract landscape formed from audio waves and psychological connections. Networks are created, visual interpretations of the forecast; based on reality but taken into abstract imagination, like the forecast itself.
'Audio Waves':
The trajectory of audio waves from the old Met Office headquarters in Bracknell as they travel out across the U.K. to the inshore waters, then the coastal areas and out onto the shipping areas - The land on the edge of dreams at 00.48.
'Casting Nets':
The three main parts of the bulletin, tracing the connections between the geographic points of each. The interlinked areas cast three net like layers over the land and waters of the British Isles - psychological safety nets for the dreams.
